The City

Central within the East Midlands, Nottingham is a vibrant and prosperous city with something to offer everyone. It is one of the UK’s leading retail centres, has a huge variety of restaurants, bars and nightclubs which attract people from all over the UK. Culturally, it is a UNESCO city of literature and it has good theatres.  Nottingham is also known for sport, being the home of Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Nottingham Forest and Notts County Football Clubs, the National Water Sports Centre and the Nottingham Tennis Centre. There is a good network of roads with easy access to the M1 and the A1.

The rail service to London and other major cities is frequent. The fast train to London taking about 1 hour 45 mins. Nottingham’s East Midlands Airport is only eighteen miles away. It provides both short and long haul flights. The city is committed to green energy with Europe’s largest battery bus fleet, the largest public bus network in the UK and the UK’s first ultra-low emission vehicle lane. Nottingham has been named England’s least car dependent city and is rapidly becoming a cycle friendly city with extensive cycle highways linking the town centre and the University.
