This is a training post in anaesthesia-related research. The research fellow will be expected to complete a specified research project agreed with and supervised by their research mentor / supervisor. The fellow will join an established Academic Department with a strong track record of successful research fellows. The Academic Department is nationally recognised for its research and several previous fellows have published high profile research papers in major journals. The department is fully committed to supporting trainees as fellows to achieve the RCoA research objectives and work towards local, national and international research presentations and publications.
Job Plan
Weekly Hours: Approx. 48 per week. On-call: Resident on call for anaesthesia joining the pool of senior SpRs
Objectives of the post
1) Successful completion of the RCoA research objectives (CCT in anaesthesia)
2) Timely completion of one or more specified and agreed research projects
3) Presentation of research at one or more national / international conferences
4) Submission for publication of at least one peer-reviewed research paper
5) Submission of a grant application to a national grant awarding body

The successful candidate would be expected to discuss research plans at an early stage with one of the members of the Academic Department. Specific goals will be agreed following discussion between the fellow and Academic Mentor.
